Waist-to-Hip Ratio Calculator
Enter waist and hip measurements to calculate your waist-to-hip ratio and health risk level.
Your waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) measures fat distribution and is a strong predictor of cardiovascular disease risk. The World Health Organization classifies risk by gender: men with WHR > 0.90 and women with WHR > 0.85 are at substantially increased risk.

Frequently Asked Questions
- WHO guidelines: Men: low risk < 0.85, moderate 0.85–0.90, high > 0.90. Women: low risk < 0.75, moderate 0.75–0.85, high > 0.85. WHR is a better cardiovascular risk predictor than BMI alone.
- Both have value. BMI measures overall weight relative to height. WHR specifically measures abdominal fat distribution, which is more directly linked to metabolic disease risk.
