Trig Calculator — sin, cos, tan and Inverses
Quick answer: Enter any angle to get sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, and cot. Or enter a value to get arcsin, arccos, arctan.
Calculate all six trigonometric functions — sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, and cot — for any angle in degrees or radians. Also calculates the inverse functions arcsin, arccos, and arctan. Built for students from geometry through calculus.

How to Use This Trig Calculator Calculator
- 1Choose mode: forward (sin/cos/tan) or inverse (arcsin/arccos/arctan).
- 2Enter the angle (degrees or radians) for forward mode, or a value for inverse mode.
- 3Read all trig function values.
Frequently Asked Questions
- In a right triangle: sin = opposite/hypotenuse, cos = adjacent/hypotenuse, tan = opposite/adjacent. On the unit circle: sin = y-coordinate, cos = x-coordinate.
- arcsin and arccos are only defined for input values between −1 and 1. arctan accepts any real number.
- Reciprocal functions: csc = 1/sin, sec = 1/cos, cot = 1/tan. They are undefined when the original function equals zero.
- tan(90°) is undefined — the cosine of 90° is 0, and dividing by 0 is undefined. The calculator shows "undefined" for these cases.
- Degrees in most geometry and everyday contexts. Radians in calculus and physics (derivatives/integrals of trig functions use radians).
